THE MURDERERS AND THE DANCERS

On the 14th of April 2014, Hundreds of lives were claimed at the twin bomb blast that occured at the Nyanya motor park bus station. The international community joined us in comdenming the devilish act and called for a purposeful and responsible leadership from the then president.

In what was seen as a wicked act and lack of respect for human right, was the decision of the then president to visit and dance at the kick-off of his re-election bid in Kano and later proceeded to Oyo state to felicitate with the Alaafin Oyo on his birthday. We felt insulted and reduced to nothing when the supposedly father of the nation who was supposed to give us maximum security went ahead to dance on the grave of his own children. The consequence of his wicked act gave birth to our overwhelming decision to give him a red card like a refree would do to an unforgiveably erring player. We vowed to send him back to Otueke with our votes because we felt we had been wickedly dealt with. Yes, not all believed in the other contestants during the last general election but we stood our ground that we wanted someone who could guarantee us a secured society. We knew we needed a safe country, a responsible leader with a passion for the Nigerian project. We knew the nation needed a captain who will sail the boat of the nation with great deftness in all sincerity. Even though GMB never possessed all these attributes, we trusted him with our votes and opted for him..we knew his antecedent but we expected a new version of him - a miracle perhaps. I haven't really come out to say much about the static motion of this present administration because I feel it is too early to judge and nothing good comes easy as they say. But the recent news I heard about the Dalori community killings in Borno nailed it for me. Alarmingly over 100 people were killed and several injured! Human flesh were scattered all around the community like litters and the whole community was brought down to its bloody kneel by the boko haram.

The president who was entrusted with the responsibilities to protect the nation's citizenry was at the African Union meeting in Ethiopia. The most annoying part is that rather than the president jetting to Borno state to console and reassure the people on his commitment to bringing insurgency to an halt and making the nation feel assured of his effort, the president jetted to Ogun state to celebrate the state's 40th anniversary while one needs to remind the president that these two states were created the same day 3rd of Feb 1976. Ironically, while one is celebrating, the other is mourning ,while one is commissioning laudable projects, the other is opening more internally displaced camps (IDP)..even the bible says it is better to go to where they are mourning than go to where they are celebrating Ecc: 7:2"..this is simply about love for humanity. However, I congratulate the people of Ogun state for having so much to show for the state's 40 years of existence, although my heart bleeds profusely that the father of the nation preferred to go celebrate than commiserate with the ones mourning.

It hurts to see that the president is doing what we voted GEJ out for. This ungodly act is so unfair to the Borno people who despite their condition massively voted for him with the hope that he will bring succour to their sufferings even though he never went there to campaign.

Baba please remember that our voters card is still very available and we will not rest until our nation gets the best.

Long live the president,

Long live Nigeria!

Tope Aluko vs PDP - Interesting reactions by PDP member.

DR. TOPE K. ALUKO VS PDP

Obviously, the drama that occurred last night, the 31st of January, as regards Dr TK Aluko's comments in his interview on channels TV has sparked a lot of controversy around the nation.

Several reactions were gathered by THE OLUYORI BLOG from across the PDP political rhelms. We are pleased to publish one of the statements gathered from a man popularly known and adressed as Olawater who is a PDP member from Abeokuta North ward 2. Our correspondent, Ugochi Nwankwo garnered the following...

#EkitiGate

Ordinarily, I would have believed that the recent report credited to one Dr TK Aluko, the Ekiti state former PDP scribe as the usual APC gimmicks to heat up the polity but for the purpose of records, we need not remain silent about such scandalous accusation.
https://juicylinksmag.files.wordpress.com/2016/02/tope-aluko.jpgDr Tope Aluko who was indicted to have stolen some money meant for the Ekiti election is yet to recover from the shock of not being appointed as Chief of State, and is now seeking public sympathy for his newly wedded party. One needs to remind Dr Aluko and his new party that the Ekiti election which was ajudged by both the local and international community has free and credible could be a bone of contention several months after the election has been conducted.  Maybe Dr Aluko should also come forward with evidences which shows how much the governor was paid to win the Presidential, federal and state assemblies elections which his new party couldn't win a single local government.

He should be reminded that there was the same military presence in the reelection bid of Osun state Governor, which saw the opposition party winning the state. Dr Aluko who seems to be beclouded by his desperation to seek revenge at all costs to Governor Fayose against the backdrop of his appointment. If anyone would have to take Dr Aluko serious, he should first report himself to the police for falsifying the swearing of his oath because we should expect a new press report tomorrow from Dr Aluko if APC fails to give him what he wants from the party.

Conclusively, Dr Aluko should be reminded that the State Governor, His Excellency, Dr Peter A Fayose is enjoying the mandate given to him by the majority of the Ekiti people, and he has since swung into action delivering the dividend of democracy of the people of the state. The time of election is over. the governor has extended his hand of friendship to everyone in the state irrespective of political affiliation to join him in bringing back the lost glory of "Fountain of Knowledge" state.

Olawater.

More Zika cases found in European tourists returning from South America

Denmark and Switzerland on Wednesday joined a growing number of European countries to report Zika infections in tourists returning from Latin America, where the mosquito-borne virus has been blamed for a surge in birth defects.
“A Danish tourist who travelled to Central and South America was diagnosed on his return with the Zika virus,” a hospital in eastern Denmark said in a statement late Tuesday.
The Danish patient was a young man who was expected to make a full recovery, the head of Aarhus hospital, Lars Ostergaard, told public broadcaster DR.
Two people returning from Haiti and Colombia to Switzerland were also diagnosed with the virus, the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health said. Neither was pregnant and neither required hospital care, the statement said.
A woman in the Swedish capital Stockholm was diagnosed with the virus in July 2015, the Swedish Public Health Agency confirmed Wednesday.
“The symptoms were treated and the woman recovered,” said Karin Tegmark Wisell, head of microbiology at the health agency.
There is no vaccine or specific treatment for Zika, a flu-like disease with a rash that goes unnoticed in 70 to 80 percent of cases. Most patients treat the symptoms simply with painkillers and other medication.
Britain has reported five cases in travellers returning from South America since last year while the Netherlands has confirmed 10 cases, also in people returning from the region.
The virus was first reported in Africa, Asia and the Pacific before leaping to the Americas, where it has been linked to a jump in the number of babies born with microcephaly, or abnormally small heads, particularly in Brazil.
The number of cases of the deformity in Brazil surged from 163 per year on average to 3,893 after the Zika outbreak began last year. Forty-nine of the babies have died.
Some 20 Latin American and Caribbean countries have been swept up in the outbreak which has extended as far north as Mexico.
Travelers have also brought it back to the US states of Florida, Hawaii and New York.
The virus is transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which also carries dengue, chikungunya and yellow fever.
So far there has been no known cases of local transmission in the US or Europe.
